Mobile Carriers Partner with NetworkIP to Win Battle for International Long Distance Market
March 26, 2015
NetworkIP, a leading provider of cloud-based international long distance, unveiled at the CCA Global Expo today an over-the-top (OTT) international calling solution for mobile operators with no system integration required to get started.
NetworkIP’s solution enables Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to offer a suite of very competitive OTT international calling options directly to their subscribers with smartphones. They can market their own white label brand to their subscriber base, competing directly with the “OUT” non-peer-to-peer products like Viber, Skype, IDT and Vonage.
Subscribers can now stay connected to family, friends and business relationships simply by dialing 011+ to call anywhere in the world from their mobile device using Wi-Fi or network access. Subscribers can choose the calling plan that best fits their needs (unlimited, pay-as-you-go, etc.). Mexico Mobile is an exclusive feature of the unlimited plan offered by HelloEarth.
Mobile operators can gain subscriber loyalty and revenue growth by offering this in-demand service under their own brand name and without any integration hassles. MNOs just provide a link (via text, email or POS material) with a short code for subscribers to text to, resulting in subscribers receiving a link to touch, guiding them to register and receive free promotional credits to try out the service.
NetworkIP’s clients gain a world class technology platform and dedicated client service. Consumers win with highly competitive rates, clear call quality and the ease of dialing directly. If branding is not a priority and time-to-market is short, carriers can opt to serve as affiliates promoting the off-the-shelf “HelloEarth” brand to their subscriber base. HelloEarth is offered on both the Android and iOS platforms.
“NetworkIP is known as an innovator in technology solutions that simplify business for our mobile clients,” adds Nichole Janner, SVP Product Development. “Our new OTT calling product will better serve consumers while growing new business for our clients.”
At the CCA Global Expo, regional carriers will have an opportunity to demo HelloEarth, experience how it will simplify the process of accessing international calling, and learn about licensing arrangements.

“The potential for gaining market share in ILD is huge for MNOs,” comments Pete Pattullo, CEO of NetworkIP. “We help them bring international long distance services to their existing subscriber base without the outlay of a major expense in infrastructure or integration projects.”
NetworkIP’s hassle-free ILD solutions provide highly-customized, competitive ILD products as a stand-alone or as an add-on feature to existing plans with Pay-as-you-go and/or Unlimited calling products. In addition to the OTT solution, NetworkIP offers integration via API or web portal and regularly works with billing providers to incorporate international calling into a subscriber’s monthly invoice or prepaid plan. Real-time retail rating, fraud abuse detection with counter measures, patented quality monitoring, 2000+ unique international destination breakouts and custom branding options are just some of the key features of an international calling solution from NetworkIP.

Sprint Taps NetworkIP to Let MVNOs Call Internationally
March 26, 2015
NetworkIP, a competitive global provider of international long distance calling products and services, today announced an agreement with Sprint to offer 3rd Party International Calling — a simpler, more cost effective ILD dialing experience for mobile virtual network operators (MVNO).
NetworkIP’s technology gives MVNOs the ability to allow or block calls to specific countries, at the subscriber level, significantly reducing the MVNO’s usage liability related to their unlimited international products. NetworkIP’s competitive cost structure for ILD calling, along with a quick time to market, enables MVNOs on the Sprint network to be more competitive in the marketplace.
In addition, subscribers can dial 011+ international numbers directly to their friends and family. There is no longer a need to prepend international dialing with PINS, access numbers, or codes to place an international call. A subscriber can quickly and easily select their calling party straight from their address book, providing the MVNO’s subscriber with a streamlined dialing experience.
“We are delighted to work with Sprint to expand their products and provide enhanced ILD calling capabilities to Sprint’s MVNO customers,” said Brian Kirk, Vice President, Business Development at NetworkIP. “At NetworkIP, we pride ourselves on our sweet service. We believe Sprint MVNOs will be delighted with the reliable and easy to use international long distance calling experience they can now offer to their consumers.”
“At Sprint, we continually search for best-in-class technologies to offer our MVNOs, providing a better experience for them and their subscribers,” said Cindy Sullivan, director-Wholesale Innovations & Solutions at Sprint. “We are eager to add NetworkIP’s ILD capabilities and features to our portfolio, enabling our MVNOs to better serve their customers and increase their competitive advantage.”
The benefits of 3rd Party International Calling for MVNOs include:More competitive international long distance rates and product offerings for subscribers.
- Ability to offer various ILD pricing packages to subscribers, such as Pay-as-you-Go and/or Unlimited.
- Real-time international call control and destination blocking by country and at the subscriber level.
- Eliminates the need to use a dial-around to place an international call.
- Easy integration into the MVNO’s back-office eco-system.
- Assured best call quality-to-cost ratio available.
